What guides RentShare
Our Mission, Vision, and Core Values guide how we build the marketplace, serve our members, and grow from one neighborhood to the next.
“To make local renting simple, safe, and accessible—helping people save money, earn from what they already own, reduce waste, and keep more value within their communities.”
“A world where trusted local sharing makes access easier than ownership, turns unused items into opportunity, and strengthens communities one neighborhood at a time.”
Our Core Values
We help neighbors help one another, build meaningful local connections, and keep more money circulating within the community.
We protect renters and owners through verified users, secure payments, honest listings, transparent policies, and fair treatment.
We help everyday people spend less, earn more, and unlock the value of items they already own.
We make RentShare simple, inclusive, and easy to use for people of every experience and technology level.
We extend the useful life of everyday items while reducing waste and unnecessary purchases.
We use modern technology to solve real community needs, improve the rental experience, and grow responsibly without losing our local focus.
More than a marketplace
Someone nearby can use the chainsaw sitting in your garage—or the luggage in your attic. RentShare makes that exchange easy, accountable, and rewarding.
“We’re building a family with a mission: help neighbors help one another, keep money in the community, and choose access over unnecessary ownership.”Jeff Owens · Founder, RentShare Marketplace
RentShare Ambassador Program
RentShare Ambassadors are independent community educators who help turn a new marketplace into a trusted local habit. They choose whether and how to help neighbors understand RentShare, create strong first listings, complete successful first actions, and feel confident using the marketplace.
Make RentShare easy to understand through friendly, honest conversations.
Help renters and listers understand profiles, listings, photos, and first requests while they control their own accounts.
Choose local introductions and partner conversations that can build balanced supply and demand.
Share community feedback and local marketplace needs with RentShare.
Approved founding-pilot model
Eligible Ambassadors may receive compensation when a referred neighbor completes a genuine, approved marketplace outcome. Account creation, conversations, leads, event attendance, and incomplete transactions do not earn a reward.
Paid participation begins only after the Ambassador Program formally opens and all eligibility requirements are completed.
The referred member’s first genuine, complete, approved listing remains available for seven days unless rented sooner.
The referred member’s first genuine paid rental is completed and clears the 14-day cancellation, refund, and chargeback review period.
One listing reward plus one completed-rental reward. Account creation alone does not qualify.
The referred person must create a verified account within 30 days. The first valid Ambassador referral is locked to that member, and only one Ambassador receives attribution.
Approved listing or rental outcomes must occur within 90 days after the referred account is verified.
Validated rewards are issued electronically on the 15th. The $25 minimum balance carries forward automatically without expiring.
Ambassadors receive an itemized statement showing each referral, qualifying outcome, reward, and adjustment.
Independent Ambassador model
RentShare does not assign shifts, fixed hours, referral quotas, exclusive territories, mandatory meetings, or guaranteed earnings. Ambassadors decide whether, when, where, and how to pursue eligible outcomes while following published disclosure, safety, privacy, truthful-advertising, and marketplace-result standards.
Required disclosure“I’m a RentShare Ambassador and may receive compensation if you take a qualifying action through my link.”
Compensation is not guaranteed and depends on approved, verified outcomes. The final program agreement and operating model remain subject to Virginia employment-counsel and tax-adviser review before launch.
A prepared local guide
Every Ambassador completes qualification and compliance steps before receiving separate Active and Compensation-Eligible status.
Application, screening, conversation, and independent-contractor agreement.
Nine modules covering brand, marketplace outcomes, disclosure, safety, privacy, and escalation.
Complete qualification exercises and independently complete a micro-activation for evidence review.
Receive an authorized certification decision, followed by a separate active-program and compensation-eligibility decision.
Ambassadors never handle rental funds, decide disputes, promise outcomes, or act as expert item inspectors. Official policies, payments, and disputes are handled through RentShare.

Investor pitch deck
People repeatedly buy items they need only briefly, while useful belongings sit idle in nearby homes.
A trusted peer-to-peer rental marketplace for tools, travel gear, event equipment, household items, and more.

RentShare earns a disclosed percentage of each rental, with future revenue from delivery, protection, premium listings, and business tools.
